Ready turn the term "Dog Days of Summer" on its head? Instead of melting in the heat, stop by the air-conditioned Story Craft Room to meet a therapy dog!
Kids can stop by any time between 11AM and noon to read to a therapy dog!
Reading to therapy dogs has been shown to reduce anxiety/depression, lower stress, improve literacy skills, boost confidence, and more! Click here for more info.
Registration suggested! Walk-ins are welcome, but the program is only one hour long, and we may not be able to accommodate large groups. Preference will be given to those who registered
June 24th & July 8th: Therapy Dog services provided by Be PAWSitive: Therapy Pets and Community Education (partnered with Friends of Fitchburg Dogs)
July 1st, 15th, & 22nd: Therapy Dog Services provided by the Lunenburg Police Department and their new therapy-dog-in-training Cassius and his handler SRO Munroe
Since 2013, Be PAWSitive Therapy Pets and Community Education has trained, developed and insured “TheraPAWS” therapy pet teams (dogs, cats) for the enhancement of our North Central Massachusetts community.
IMPORTANT REGISTRATION NOTE:
Because our programs are filling up fast, we are lengthening the waitlists to get a feel for interest. We cannot promise any second sessions but are looking into adding them for select programs that generate high interest. We also ask that people only sign up if they plan to attend.
