JAZZUKULELE is a four-member combo that plays the music of yesteryear: Jazz, Folk, Blues, novelty songs from the 1920’s onward.
The group consists of:
Paul Luria playing ukulele & harmonica and performing vocals. Paul is a seasoned musician, performing for 65 years in New York City and then in Central Massachusetts.
Paula Cookson Luria on clarinet & vocals. Paula has been playing clarinet since middle school and has sung with various groups.
Steve Brown, percussion and vocals. Steve, a two-time All-Ireland Rhythm Bones champion, has played various percussion instruments with numerous diverse bands.
Den Poitras, street bass. Den Poitras, playing his Street Bass, (His improved evolution of the washtub bass), has performed widely.
JAZZUKULLE is an energetic, innovative conglomerate of very experienced musicians bringing you a toe-tapping, hand-clapping show.
And don't forget to stop by earlier in the evening for cake and a birthday party for our beautiful library building at 5:00 pm in our community room. In 2025, we're marking a 20 year milestone for our library building being a central hub of community in Lunenburg. Celebrate with us at all the 20th Anniversary events happening this October, and especially at this closing concert celebration on Friday, October 24th.
