Come on a winter tour through history - and around the world - with this magical storytelling show!
Jonah Knight is an award-winning writer, performer, and magician... and he loves holiday lights.
Join him at the library as we explore 14 light traditions from early fire festivals, celestial symbolism, meanings behind certain candles and lanterns, and end with electronic illuminations in a family-friendly show (ages 5+ recommended).
We will look at: The Winter Solstice, Early fire festivals of Vikings, Pagans, and the Hopi/Pueblo, Celestial events with stars and the moon, The Butter Candle Festival and Diwali, Lanterns from St. Martin’s Day, south west luminaria, and the Sky Lanterns of Yi Peng, Candles in Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and St. Lucia’s Day, Modern electronic illuminations
There will be No fire, sparks, or flammable material and No strobe effects.
